Let’s Talk…

Here’s a description of what it’s like for us to work together and answers to common questions about the process of getting started.

  • Contact me for a free phone consultation. During this call, you can ask me preliminary questions to help you determine if you would like to meet for a face-to-face session. If you don’t have any questions, we can discuss what brings you to therapy, if you’ve been in therapy before, what that experience was like for you and what you are looking for in a therapist. This helps assess if I’m able to provide the kind of therapeutic experience you are looking for and if we might be a good fit.

  • During our first meeting, we can discuss what challenges you are facing and what you’d like to work on in therapy. We can discuss the fee and I can answer any questions that you may have.

If we decide to work together, we will set up a weekly time to meet. I see clients on a weekly basis and do not offer sessions on a monthly or bi-weekly basis.

  • Fees

My fee range is discussed during our first meeting. I do reserve a few slots for sliding scale for those that financially qualify. We will mutually agree upon a fee based upon weekly sessions. Payment is due on on a monthly basis on the final session of the month. I accept checks, Zelle and credit cards for payment.

    Insurance

I am not contracted with any insurance companies at this time.

If you wish to use your insurance benefits, I partner with a service called Thrizer that will file out-of-network claims on your behalf for a small fee. This is easier than completing all of the paperwork that insurance companies require.

It is recommended that you contact your insurance provider before starting therapy. You can ask what Out-of-Network benefits your insurance policy offers. Most insurance companies will cover a percentage of mental health care services if a diagnosis code is provided. I can provide an invoice for you to send your insurance company for reimbursement. If you elect to use your out of network benefits, you will pay me directly for the full amount of fees. I will provide you with an invoice that you submit to your insurance company and they will reimburse you directly for the portion they will cover.

  • My office is located at 125 E. 23rd Street (between Park and Lexington). It is a two minute walk from the 23rd Street stop on the 6 train.

  • I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel for any reason and cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will owe the full fee for the session.

If you need to reschedule within 24 hours, the full fee also applies.

  • I offer virtual and telehealth services to clients across the greater Hudson Valley and in the state of New York.

  • Chronic anxiety drains you of your energy. You might feel overwhelmed, on edge or burned out. Constant worry can make you restless and lose sleep. It creates tension in your body and adds stress to your life. You may find yourself using distractions, such as the internet, social media or tv, to distract you from your thoughts and get you “out of your head.”

Anxiety doesn’t have to run your life. Voicing your anxious thoughts can drain them of their power. Talk therapy provides an outlet to discharge your anxiety, reducing your stress and tension levels. Long term therapy can resolve the conflicts underlying your anxiety so that your life is no longer controlled by it.
