Let’s Talk…

Here’s a description of what it’s like for us to work together and answers to common questions about the process of getting started.

  • Contact me for a free phone consultation. During this call, you can ask me preliminary questions to help you determine if you would like to meet for a face-to-face session. If you don’t have any questions, we can discuss what brings you to therapy, if you’ve been in therapy before, what that experience was like for you and what you are looking for in a therapist. This helps assess if I’m able to provide the kind of therapeutic experience you are looking for and if we might be a good fit.

  • During our first session, we can discuss what challenges you are facing and what you’d like to work on in therapy. We can discuss the fee and agree on a regular time to meet. I can answer any questions that you may have about therapy or me.

  • Fees

During the first meeting, we will discuss the fee so that I can understand your financial situation and set an appropriate fee. I reserve a few reduced fee slots for those that financially qualify.

Payment is due on the final session of the month. I accept cash, checks, credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, Venmo and Zelle.

    Insurance

I am not contracted with any insurance companies at this time.

If you wish to use your out-of-network insurance benefits, I partner with a service called Thrizer that will file out-of-network claims on your behalf for a small fee. This is easier than completing all of the paperwork that insurance companies require.

It is recommended that you contact your insurance provider before starting therapy. You can ask what Out-of-Network benefits your insurance policy offers.

Most insurance companies will cover a percentage of mental health care services if a diagnosis code is provided. I can provide an invoice for you to send your insurance company for reimbursement.

If you elect to use your out of network benefits, you pay me in full for the fees and seek reimbursement after you have paid in full. I will provide you with a a monthly statement that you submit to your insurance company and they will reimburse you for the portion they will cover.

  • My office is in the Gramercy/Flatiron area of Manhattan, located at 125 E. 23rd Street (between Park and Lexington). It is a two minute walk from the 23rd Street stop on the 6 train.

  • I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel for any reason and cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will owe the full fee for the session. Missed appointments are owed in full.

If you need to reschedule within 24 hours, the full fee also applies as I cannot guarantee another appointment will be available that week.

  • I offer Zoom and telehealth services to clients across the greater Hudson Valley and in the state of New York.
